Jaguar and Land Rover Are Not Mere Luxe Brands

Merly terming Jaguar and Land Rover as luxurious cars is a huge understatement. These car brands have a proven track record and lots of style packed in them. Jagaur and Land Rover vehicles are compared to the best luxury cars of the world.

However, their plight in India will be decided by the time to come. There is no easy road to success in India. Both brands have come out with three models each- XF, XFR and XKR by Jaguar and Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and Discovery 3 sport utility vehicles. All new cars are priced in the range of Rs 62 lakh to Rs 92 lakh. Next to come to India is the dynamic XLR, and soon to launched new XJ series of cars.

The pack of Jaguars is led by the highly successful XF brand of cars. Following it is the XK series of cars. It is pitted against its European rivals BMW 6-series, Mercedes E class and Porsche cars. In the new car models for India, XF comes with 5.0Litre naturally aspirated V8 petrol engine that puffs out 383 bhp of power. It can go from 0-100 in less than 5.7 seconds. It is the most efficient and highly effective at fuel economy.

And there are the race car inspired XFR and the XKR. Both these models are powered by the supercharged 5.0 litre churning out 509 bhp of power. The XFR sport saloon is called the ultimate Jag as it can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 4.8 seconds. It has a top speed of 250km/h. The XKR is slightly more powerful because of its leaner coupe like body as it can do the same in just 4.6 seconds.

Except for the new LED cluster taillamps and a more sloping roof line on the coupe, the XKR siblings have little difference. The XKR convertible gets a luxurious three lined fabric retractable top which can unfolded in a mere 18 seconds time. The convertible also gets an exclusive roll over protection system which helps prevents passengers from falling off the car in a collision.

Land Rover's magical history on the off-road poweress is well known worldwide. The Land Rover can be called the earliest vehicles to have inspired today's SUVs. The expensive Range Rover is highly acclaimed as one of the best off-roading vehicles in the world. Powered by 3.6 litre turbocharged diesel V8 engine it generates 271 bhp. The smaller Range Rover Sport is performance oriented car. It is equipped with a similar engine tuned to deliver 272 bhp power. The smaller boxy structure Discovery 3 is equipped with a 2.7Litre turbocharged CRDI V6 engine. It features a three row seating arrangement. Land Rover promises a lot of comfort for Indian passengers.
