Audi Brings Award Winning Engine to India

Audi has introduced three new engines for its highest selling A4 model in India. With this, Audi has taken the number of five engines variants to five in order to cater to a wide section of Indian luxury car market. In fact Audi has provided the largest choice of powertrains to any single car model sold in India.

Audi India offers three new engines- the 3.0 TDI diesel Quattro engine, the 2.0 TFSI and the 1.8 TFSI petrol engines on the A4. They come in addition to the existing 3.2litre FSI petrol engine and the 2.0 litre TDI diesel engine.

Audi engines have been appreciated by the highest authorities for their true performance oriented approach. The same philosophy has been applied to three new engines as well. The new engines are no small equipments on A4. Audi engines have been winners of several international awards on many occasions. Recently, the Audi powertrains were awarded the 'International Engine of the Year Award' for the fifth time in a row. The recipient engines also included the 2.0 TFSI petrol engine introduced on Audi A4 in India. The award panel opined that the 2.0 TFSI offered a great combination performance and efficiency to enhance driving pleasure.

The German car manufacturer Audi AG introduced the 2.0 TFSI in 2004 and had first fitted in the A3 Sportback. Ever since, Audi cars which come with this engine have been in high demand. So much so that the Audi has sold more than 13 lakh units of cars fitted with this engine. The 2.0litre TFSI engine has been hugely popular among Audi car buyers across the world. The same story is expected to be repeated in Indian car market.

Apart from featuring on the A4, the 2.0litre TFSI engine also appears on the recently launched Audi Q5. In order giving the engines an individual personality, they have been tuned differently give power varying outputs. The engine in Audi A4 generates 180 hp, and the same in Audi Q5 offers 211 hp of power.

The new powertrains are tuned to offer 10 percent less fuel consumption as compared to previous Audi A4 models. These engines come with the latest cutting edge technology, which are the same as in other Audi cars. These new engines pack a lot of technology and performances, making them stand out in the Indian automotive sector.

The A4 engines have been inspired by Audi's philosophy "Vorsprung durch Technik" meaning advantage through technology. With the new engines Audi A4 will be able cater to a wider section of the luxury car market. The new engines are highly sophisticated and progressive which add power to the A4 like never before.
